Install on Windows¶

nParse+ ships as a plain zip for 64-bit Windows (nparseplus-<version>-win64.zip) — no installer, no admin rights needed.

1. Download and unpack¶

Download the zip from the latest release.
Extract it anywhere you like (e.g. C:\Games\nparseplus\).
Run nparseplus.exe from the extracted folder.

nParse+ lives in the system tray (bottom-right, near the clock) — if you don't see a window, look for the tray icon.

SmartScreen warning

The binaries are not code-signed (yet), so Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC" on first launch. Click More info → Run anyway. The source is public if you'd rather audit or build it yourself.

If your antivirus quarantines it

A few engines (AVG and Avast most often) flag PyInstaller-packaged apps generically — it is a false positive, and nParse+ is not the only app it happens to. The full explanation, how to get the file back, and how to report it to the vendor are in Troubleshooting.

2. Point it at your logs¶

Continue with First run — you'll select your EverQuest Logs folder and turn on /log on in game.

Verify your download (optional)¶

GitHub publishes a sha256 for every release asset. To check the zip you got is byte-for-byte the one we uploaded:

Get-FileHash .\nparseplus-<version>-win64.zip -Algorithm SHA256

and compare it with the digest listed for that asset at https://api.github.com/repos/prokopto-dev/nparse-plus/releases/latest. A match proves the transfer was clean; it is not a signature. Same check the self-updater runs on your behalf for in-app updates.

Updating¶

nParse+ checks GitHub for new releases at startup and offers the zip download from the tray menu — unpack the new version over (or beside) the old one. See Updating.

Uninstall¶

Delete the extracted folder. Settings live separately under %LOCALAPPDATA%\nparseplus\nparseplus\ — delete that too for a clean slate.
